Do you work with brick specifications? Invitation to share your experience

CIAT is sharing this invitation on behalf of independent researchers Lynda Thompson and Kathy Seymour, who are undertaking research commissioned by a UK brick manufacturer, Michelmersh.

They would like to hear from architectural technologists with practical experience of researching, selecting or specifying bricks, checking their technical suitability, or reviewing proposed alternatives.

The research explores how these tasks work in practice, where difficulties arise, and what manufacturers and suppliers could do to make them easier. They are interested in the information and support you use, including websites, digital tools and contact with suppliers, as well as your views on potential future services, including AI.

You do not need to use AI or be a Michelmersh customer to take part.

Interviews will take up to 45 minutes, online or by telephone, at a time convenient to you. As a thank-you for completing an interview, they are offering £50 as either a high-street voucher or a donation to a UK-registered charity of your choice.

If you are interested, please complete this short form by 9 November 2026 to tell them a little about your role and experience.

Interviews will take place no later than the week commencing 16 November 2026.

They have a small number of interview places and will select participants to include a range of experiences. Completing the form does not commit you to taking part. If selected, you will be contacted with further information and arrange a suitable time.
