ICSG working group questionnaire

The Industry Competence Steering Group established a working group looking at the competences of the Principal Designer under The Building Regulations etc. (Amendment) (England) Regulations 2023, including consideration of PAS 8671 and how that relates to demonstrably competent individuals and organisations carrying out the role of Principal Designer in the market place.

It is understood that there is not a consistent understanding of the role and duty of the Principal Designer role under the secondary legislation, and so the Steering Group have created a questionnaire to gather feedback. The aim of this questionnaire is to surface how the role of the Principal Designer as described in the Building Safety Act and the subsequent secondary legislation is being understood and interpreted in industry.

The questionnaire should be returned to [email protected] & [email protected] by end of play on 13 February 2026.
