Number of CIAT Accredited Programmes in the Republic of Ireland increases

The number of CIAT Accredited Architectural Technology Programmes in the Republic of Ireland has increased from two to four.

Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology (GMIT) and Technological University Dublin (TUD) received their Accreditation certificates at CIAT’s AT Awards event on 13 September 2019 in London. They join Waterford Institute of Technology (the first CIAT Accredited Programme in Ireland) and Institute of Technology, Carlow in preparing the next generation of Architectural Technology professionals.

Both educational establishments have been delivering their Programmes for a number of years (GMIT since 2013 and TUD since 1966- formerly Dublin Institute of Technology) and as such, have established strong links with industry.

Paul Laycock MCIAT, Vice President Education said, “We are pleased to welcome GMIT and TUD’s Programmes to the Institute’s educational network. These additions provide more learners in Ireland the opportunity to study Architectural Technology and be a part of CIAT’s vibrant Republic of Ireland Centre."
