Planning Portal to launch building control service

Launching in spring 2024, Planning Portal will be unifying planning and building control into one portal.

Planning and building control applications will be submitted through a single, unified portal that will allow for a more seamless user experience, easier navigation of both applications and improved standardisation, says Planning Portal.

What you can do to prepare
The upgrade will allow you to access your planning and building control applications under one account. Submitted and draft applications will not be moved over to the new Building Control Portal.

Before the launch
If you want to keep a copy of a submitted building control application, please download a copy.

When it launches
If you have an application in draft, you will either need to submit it before the current system is closed or create the application again on the new Portal.

Your current building control login details will not work. Instead, you will need a Planning Portal account which will give you access to both planning and building control applications. If you don't already have a Planning Portal account, you can register here.

If you already have a Planning Portal account, you will automatically have access to the new Building Control Portal.
