Survey | FET Skills for the Green Economy

SOLAS, the Further Education & Training (FET) Authority, has recently employed the services of KPMG to aid in the development of the first National Strategy: FET Skills for the Green Economy.

For the first time, this strategy will identify how FET can directly meet the skills needs of emerging green occupations, ensure existing occupations are sustainable and supply the transversal skills learners will require to succeed in the green economy.

A targeted online survey aimed at developing a long list of required green skills for core occupations across a number of key economic sectors (e.g., construction & built environment, engineering, agriculture, transport, biodiversity, tourism, hospitality, finance) has also been launched. You are invited to take the survey and/or forward it to colleagues in your organisation who are best placed to provide information on critical green skills requirements for sectoral occupations. The survey can be taken as many times as desired, especially if an organisation can provide information on more than one core area/occupation.

The survey should take about 15-20 minutes to complete and can be accessed here: FET Skills for the Green Economy: Sectoral Survey.

Please note this survey will close 10 May 2024.
