Your views wanted | Consultations on reforming Biodiversity Net Gain

The Department for the Environment, Food and Rural affairs is currently running two consultations in partnership with MHCLG, looking at reforming Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements in England.

One looks at Small, Medium and Brownfield Sites, and the other considers implementing BNG for nationally significant infrastructure projects (NSIPs).

The aim of the consultation is to ensure that BNG objectives are being effectively realised, while enabling projects to be delivered in line with wider government priorities, including building 1.5 million new homes and approving 150 major infrastructure projects over this parliament.

CIAT will be responding to the consultation on BNG for small, medium and brownfield sites, and subject to member input, may also respond to the consultation on NSIPs. To inform this work, CIAT will be holding a consultation workshop on Tuesday 15 July from 14:00 to 16:00, via Zoom.

Your voice is important which is why we hold these interactive workshops at CIAT to enable you to have your say. Workshop attendees should have read the consultation documents and be prepared to contribute to the discussion of the questions.

To register your interest, please complete the form here. Further information, including the Zoom link, will be sent to those who have registered nearer the event.

If you are unable to attend, please submit any comments via email to [email protected]. Please also feel free to get in touch should have any questions regarding the consultation.
