Update to Building Standards in Scotland

A note on updates to Building Standards in Scotland.

Members working in Scotland should be aware that revised Building Standards came into force on 1 March 2021.

Of particular note are the amendments to Section 2 with changes to the protection of Structural elements, combustibility and mandatory inclusion of automatic fire suppression systems (AFSS) to all new two storey social housing and all multi-occupancy residential buildings, flats and maisonettes.
