A Sustainable Built Environment is a cross-disciplinary, knowledge transfer opportunity delivered by Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) registrants via webinar.

They are designed to provide good practice case studies and insight into key sub-topics under the umbrella theme from a range of sectors - providing different perspectives, but all with the goal of protecting and enhancing our environment - all within the context of the built environment.

The series includes three webinars covering a variety of topics, with seven speakers across the series. Each webinar has an approximate duration of one hour.

You will hear from Chartered Environmentalists working within professional bodies, universities, major infrastructure projects and independent consultancies. Sub-topics under the umbrella theme - A Sustainable Built Environment - include professionalism in arboriculture, the role of research, materials for High Speed 2 (HS2), carbon management and SuDS.

Whilst the CEnv speakers and those linked with their work are specialists in their field, they provide the perspectives from different sectors, which makes for an interesting debate and a wide learning opportunity for all working in the built environment.

About
The Society for the Environment is the body responsible for the registration of environmental professionals. We are the custodian of the Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) and Registered Environmental Technician (REnvTech) registers, and since 2004 have established a sound platform as the body tasked with championing and registering the expertise of environmental professionals.

Working as a partnership with 24 professional bodies, including CIAT, we ensure the quality, relevance and awareness of our registrations and enabling our partners and registrants to work together. We are in a unique position, bringing together a range of disciplines and sectors to reflect the multi-disciplinary practice of environmental professionals.

The Society have registered over 9,000 environmental professionals to date and new registrants are continuing to join the register year on year. We operate under a Royal Charter which mandates us to promote the advancement of, the dissemination of, knowledge of, and education in good environmental practice for the public benefit.
