Often overlooked brownfield sites are frequently dismissed as undevelopable. Yet collectively, they represent significant untapped capacity within our towns and cities.
This session explores how advances in Architectural Technology and modern methods of construction are transforming the viability and design quality of these sites. By combining precision-engineered modular systems with design-led thinking, small-site housing can achieve high standards of daylight, space, sustainability and integration within existing neighbourhoods.
Beyond technical innovation, the panel will examine the wider societal impact of unlocking brownfield sites. Delivering well-designed, affordable homes within established communities can reduce displacement, support key workers, and help address the growing risk of homelessness linked to housing shortages and affordability pressures.
