ASA conference 2023: Call for abstracts

The 56th international conference of the Architectural Science Association (ANZAScA) invites members and affiliates to present original research for this year's conference.

It will be hosted by the School of Architecture and Design, University of Tasmania, Australia. 

This year's conference will have three streams; traditional peer reviewed full paper, poster, and practitioner presentations.

Submissions should address the subthemes:

  • Indoor and outdoor Environment Quality and Performance
  • Architectural construction and technology
  • Building Physics (Energy, Sound, Light, Hygrothermal)
  • Data driven design, Big data, Parametric Design
  • Architectural education
  • Regenerative/reuse (Permanence, transformation, contemporaneity)
  • Practice/Practitioner, Community and Industry Engagement, applied science in practice
  • The social side of sustainability; communicating architectural science to a wider audience

Key dates
Abstracts due: 1 May 2023
Abstract acceptance notification: 26 May 2023
Full papers due: 28 July 2023
Full paper acceptance notification: 25 August 2023
Final revised paper due: 15 October 2023
Conference: 29 November to 1 December 2023 

Refereeing process
All abstracts will be blind reviewed and accepted abstracts will be invited to be developed into full papers. Each submitted full paper will be double-blind peer reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee. Accepted papers by registered authors will be published in the conference proceedings.
