SRC Armagh Project wins UK wide Award

Armagh campus project wins 'UK Collaboration Project of the Year' at the Construction Computing Awards 2019.

Local Newry based contractor Felix O’Hare & Co Ltd are delighted to announce that the Southern Regional College Armagh Campus project finished runner up in the category for "UK BIM Project of the Year" and won "UK Collaboration Project of the Year" at the Construction Computing Awards 2019.

As a project mandating BIM Level 2, the team has had to innovate and change processes and workflows to comply with this relatively new way of working. The award is a testament to the fantastic teamwork experienced on the project as well as how well the team has adopted the many changes when compared with traditional construction, and as a result the project is reaping the benefits.

Rori Millar MCIAT, Head of Digital Construction at Felix O'Hare Co Ltd said: “We are delighted to receive this UK wide award for “Collaboration Project of the Year” at the 2019 Construction Computing Awards. Our project management team, site team, sub-contractors and client have embraced a new way of working where innovation is paramount. We have used Dalux to capture and manage all project information such as drawings, documents, models and general issues on site. It has been a fantastic tool that has allowed true collaboration between all project stakeholders and this award demonstrates this.”

Members of the digital construction department, Rori Millar and William Adams, attended the ceremony in London on behalf of the team and accepted the award along with Dalux representatives Michael Romero-Sanz and Laura Knights.

Work is currently ongoing on the SRC Armagh Campus Project and is due for completion early 2020 with a view to accepting it’s first students in August/September 2020.
