This Award is open to individuals and/or groups, but all must be a CIAT member, studying full or part-time on an undergraduate programme in Architectural Technology (or related subject) and not hold any construction related professional qualification.
Criteria for submission
Submissions must be based upon all, or part, of a project-based design assignment that is relevant to Architectural Technology.
Each entry will be assessed against the following criteria:
- functionality and inclusivity.
- buildability and assembly.
- health and safety.
- environment and sustainability.
- performance and durability.
- design and presentation.
Submission
A completed application form along with (as PDFs):
- two A1 layouts detailing the project's layout, form and aesthetic.
- two A1 layouts detailing the project's fabric, structure and services.
- a summary report (up to 1000 words) that describes the project, approach taken and how the solution addresses the criteria, using the following headings: context, brief, analysis, design concept and technical resolution.
N.B. QR codes are not to be included and will not be accessed by the Judging Panel. The minimum text on the layouts should be 8pts.
Entry fee
There is no application fee – it is free to enter.
Award
The Winner recieves a trophy, a certificate, and an AT Awards logo, an upgrade to Associate membership (until the end of the membership subscription year 2025/26) and £800.
Highly Commended (second) receives a trophy, a certificate, an AT Awards logo, upgrade to Associate membership (until the end of the membership subscription year 2025/26) and £500.
Commended (third) receives a trophy, a certificate, an AT Awards logo, upgrade to Associate membership (until the end of the membership subscription year 2025/26) and £300.
