Asbestos was banned in the UK in 1999, but it remains the single greatest cause of work-related deaths in the UK.
The Health and Safety Executive published that asbestos accounts for nearly 5000 deaths each year in the UK. Asbestos is therefore a key health and safety issue which needs to be managed at the outset and throughout the lifetime of demolition, maintenance and refurbishment projects.
Fergus McCloskey – Managing Director, Global Environmental and Paul Clarke-Scholes – Senior Consultant, Clifford Devlin, give techniques to minimise costs associated with asbestos on projects.
